Staff Accountant

Description

Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a client in the western suburbs. This role involves managing financial records, preparing accurate statements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of accounting principles and strong analytical skills to support the organization's financial operations.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with established schedules.

- Record and monitor all monthly balance sheet and income statement activities.

- Conduct thorough research and analysis of financial transactions to summarize and report on financial status.

- Review and interpret general ledger activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Collaborate with various departments, such as Asset Management and Finance, to address discrepancies and recommend system improvements.

- Assist external auditors during the year-end audit process by providing necessary documentation and information.

- Support special accounting projects as directed by management.

- Maintain adherence to company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in all interactions and responsibilities.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university.

- Minimum of 3 years of detail-oriented accounting experience, preferably within a real estate environment.

- Proficiency in performing journal entries and managing general ledger activities.

- Strong knowledge of month-end close processes.

- Experience working with Yardi accounting software is a plus.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

This position offers a salary range of $70,000-$80,000 and comes with a full benefit package including:
