Job OverviewA confidential organization is seeking a hands-on and strategic finance leader to oversee all aspects of accounting and financial operations. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys both high-level strategy and direct involvement in daily accounting activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, compliance, team leadership, and supporting business operations.
Location: Western Suburb of Chicago, IL (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-Time
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with applicable standards
- Oversee journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Maintain and improve internal controls and compliance
- Collaborate with operational teams to align financial reporting with business activities
- Manage accounting for service contracts and inventory
- Supervise and mentor a small finance/accounting team
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Coordinate with external auditors and corporate finance contacts
- Support business management systems and purchasing processes
- Oversee invoicing and account management for customers
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including team leadership
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and compliance
- Experience with inventory management
- Background in project-based or service-oriented environments preferred
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Hands-on approach to team development and process improvement
- Familiarity with business management software is a plus
- Personal Time Off (PTO) is offered on an accrual basis up to 184 hours a year, 13 Paid Holidays, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave.
