Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

The Electrical Engineer – Power Systems performs electrical power systems studies and analysis for industrial and utility clients. Utilizing industry standard analysis software (ETAP, SKM, etc.), the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to create study cases, analyze results, and provide detailed written reports. A strong fundamental understanding of industrial and utility power systems and calculation methods is required.

As the Electrical Engineer – Power Systems, you will work with clients and Nexus personnel to prepare studies including the following:

• System Short Circuit Studies
• Relay Coordination Studies
• Load Flow Analysis
• Power System Harmonics Analysis
• Motor Starting Studies
• Arc Flash Hazard Studies
• Relay Setting File Creation & Analysis

The role reports to the Senior Electrical Engineer or Engineering Discipline Manager. Completed technical work is provided to senior management prior to presentation to the client.

Occasional travel (2–3 times per year) of up to one week to visit client facilities to gather data along with other Nexus personnel may be required.

• Perform electrical power systems studies and analysis.
• Create study cases, analyze results, and provide detailed written reports.
• Work with clients and Nexus personnel to prepare studies.

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• Working knowledge of ETAP required.
• Familiarity with other systems analysis tools such as SKM desired.
• 5+ years of experience in power systems studies.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products.

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.

This is a full‑time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties d emand.
