Solar O&M Field Technician

We’re Hiring:
Solar & ESS Field Technician (Commercial O&M) AND Solar Field Lead:

One of our top-tier renewable energy clients a long-standing, highly respected solar + battery storage leader in Illinois is looking to add a Solar & Energy Storage Field Technician & a Lead to their growing O&M team.

You’ll support ongoing and existing commercial solar + battery storage sites across Illinois with responsibilities include:

• Performing O&M, inspections, and diagnostics on commercial/industrial solar and ESS systems.
• Completing preventative & corrective maintenance with detailed documentation.
• Conducting MC/SC inspections, mechanical/electrical checks, and system verification.
• Performing infrared & drone thermography inspections (training provided).
• Reviewing/understanding electrical schematics, SLDs, and construction drawings.
• Supporting SCADA monitoring, network communications, and system performance.
• Completing material takeoffs and recommending component replacements.

• 2+ years of technical experience (electrical, solar, or related trade).
• Experience maintaining commercial or utility-scale solar systems.
• Strong understanding of PV systems, ESS, microgrids, and electrical fundamentals.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams/schematics.
• Knowledge of NEC and standard industry practices.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to ~30%. Ability to travel to jobsites.
• Comfortable with rooftop work and lifting up to 100 lbs.
• Preferred:
  NABCEP
  , OSHA 30
  , SCADA experience, or drone/IR inspection exposure.
