Emery Jensen is a business unit of Ace Hardware Corporation that sells and distributes hard‑line products to independent Pro/Lumber, Paint, Hardware, and e‑retailer customer segments.

What You Will Do
  • Perform the monthly close responsibilities (journal entries, variance analysis, account reconciliations and management inquiries) associated with the more basic functional areas within Emery Jensen.
  • Support Emery Jensen's Sr. Accountant with routine activities, including rolling over financial statements, preparing journal entry templates, and maintaining a monthly close activity tracker.
  • Work with the stakeholders to gain an understanding of the area, propose process improvements, and assist with the implementation of those process improvements.
  • Maintain existing scorecards, ad‑hoc reports, and analysis, as assigned by management, to key cross‑functional areas.
  • Assist with projects designed to improve accounting efficiency or drive quality results.
  • Support other projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • This job reports into Oak Brook, IL (Four in‑office days per week).
What You Need To Exceed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Entry level, Minimum 0‑1 years of work experience in a financial/accounting capacity.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret large datasets.
  • Effectively communicate and work with internal business partners.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Basic project/time management skills.
  • Ability to work with supervision.
  • Adequate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of partnering with internal stakeholders at various levels.
  • Time‑management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and ensure completion of responsibilities.
Compensation Details

$66,000 to $76,000
