Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Risk Manager/Analyst
Position Summary
The Compliance Specialist will work under the direction of Devon’s Senior Compliance Manager to ensure the company’s compliance with multi-state lien laws, regulatory requirements and operational policies and mandates.
Core Responsibilities- Assists in creating all documentation related to auctions and audits.
- Conducts internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitors current processes and propose corrective actions to resolve issues and/or improve overall performance.
- Assists with the development of training materials related to all facets of auction and audit processes.
- Provides coaching, training, and guidance to employees to ensure compliance in all areas related to auctions and audits.
- Investigates non-conformance/non-compliance issues and assists in providing corrective measures to improve business performance.
- Coordinates with internal departments to ensure sustained compliance and integrated company-wide execution of auction policies and procedures for field personnel.
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and mentors to store teams for all auction and audit-related functions.
- This position does not carry direct supervisory authority.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, quality assurance, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- 7-10 years’ experience in compliance, quality assurance, or a similar role preferred.
- 5-7 years’ experience in the self-storage industry is required.
Certifications/Licenses:
- No certification/licenses required.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills are a must.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; both written and verbal.
- Ability to quickly adapt to all relevant software is a must.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously is required.
- Team player with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
Physical Requirements
Working Conditions:
- This position is an on-site position at the Inland headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois.
Physical Requirements:
- Sees clearly at a distance of 20 inches or less to read documents and/or view computer screen.
- Hears and talks and communicates in person and via phone on a daily basis.
- Uses hands/fingers to enter, retrieve and/or manipulate data using a computer keyboard.
- Ability to walk storage facilities, interact with staff and customers, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
Annual Base Salary Range: $72,000.00 - $90,000.00
