We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team and rise to the challenge of empowering service.
Position Highlights:Participate in month end closing procedures, including the reconciliation of grants, donations, and restricted funds as well as preparation of month-end journal entries. This role will also play a significant part in the budget and forecast process, the annual audit, and annual tax return preparation. Communication and collaboration with other departments/divisions in the organization is a key component in this role.
Special ad hoc reporting as needed.
- Prepare, verify and control the entering of selected journal entries to the general ledger.
- Monthly account reconciliations, analysis, and related journal entry preparation and posting.
- Assist in reviewing and updating monthly closing procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and the Board of Trustees. Reviews and analyzes variances and provides commentary.
- Provide support for the coordination and reporting of the budget and forecast.
- Prepare periodic cash flow analysis.
- Produce analysis of special year-end items (e.g., allowance for uncollectible pledges).
- Compile selected schedules for external auditors.
- Provide support for tax preparation and year-end reporting.
- Assist in reviewing and updating procedures and internal controls.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations as appropriate to field.
- BS or BA in Accounting/Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of two to three years of related experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Effective technology application (Advanced Excel, experience with ERP software systems such as SAP) a plus.
Exempt: $75,000 - $85,000
