** is a subsidiary of Ace Hardware Corporation that sells and distributes hard-line products to independent Pro/Lumber, Paint, Hardware, and E-retailer customer segments.

Our team is currently looking for a
** Staff Accountant
** who will be responsible for ensuring accurate presentation of financial records. They will provide accounting support and prepare analysis, journal entries, and account reconciliations. This team member will work directly with varying levels of management and business partners throughout the organization through various forms of communication when accomplishing these tasks.
** What you will do…
*** Perform the monthly close responsibilities (journal entries, variance analysis, account reconciliations and management inquiries) associated with the more basic functional areas within Emery Jensen.
* Support Emery Jensen's Sr. Accountant with routine activities, including rolling over financial statements, preparing journal entry templates, and maintaining a monthly close activity tracker.
* Work with the stakeholders to gain an understanding of the area, propose process improvements, and assist with the implementation of those process improvements.
* Maintain existing scorecards, ad-hoc reports, and analysis, as assigned by management, to key cross-functional areas.
* Assist with projects designed to improve accounting efficiency or drive quality results.
* Support other projects and initiatives as assigned.
** What you need to exceed…
*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
* Experience with SAP preferred.
* Entry level, Minimum 0-1 years of work experience in a financial/accounting capacity
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large datasets.
* Effectively communicate and work with internal business partners.
* Understanding of basic accounting principles.
* Basic project/time management skills.
* Ability to work with supervision.
* Adequate verbal and written communication skills
* Proficient Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level.
* Effective communication skills, capable of partnering with internal stakeholders at various levels.
* Time‑management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and ensure completion of responsibilities.
* This job reports into Oak Brook, IL (Four in-office days per week).#LI-AC1
** Compensation Details:**$66000 to $76000
