Part‑Time Court Clerk

The City of O'Fallon is seeking a dependable, detail‑oriented Part‑Time Court Clerk to provide clerical support for the day‑to‑day operations of the Municipal Court. This position plays an important role in ensuring accurate record keeping, excellent customer service, and the smooth functioning of court processes. Success in this role directly contributes to the effectiveness of Municipal Court operations. Candidate must be available for Monday evening court sessions.
Essential Duties- Assist the public in person and by phone; provide information regarding payments, warrants, tickets, and court dates.
- Update court dates for payment and issue warrants for non‑appearance.
- Enter tickets, warrants, and related information into the court's computerized database.
- Execute and recall warrants as directed.
- Provide clerical support to the Prosecuting Attorney, including processing entries and recommendations.
- Apply bond payments and process fine payments.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail.
- Enter court‑appointed class completions.
- Assist in preparing court dockets and maintaining court files.
- Process bad‑check correspondence.
- Provide back‑up cashiering support.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of Municipal Court policies, procedures, and record‑management principles.
- Knowledge of modern office practices and proficiency with computers and job‑related software.
- Skill in analyzing problems and developing effective solutions.
- Skill in preparing clear, accurate administrative reports.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations at a level associated with high school completion or equivalent.
- One to two years of experience in a similar role or equivalent training that provides the necessary knowledge and skills.
- Ability to be bonded.
