The Faculty Development Trainer will be responsible for training primarily faculty members in various aspects of teaching. This will occur in either the inpatient or outpatient setting depending on the needs of the School of Medicine. Under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of Student, Resident and Faculty Development, the incumbent will work to implement teaching programs. Training programs will be developed/implemented for the School of Medicine Phase 1 (pre-clerkship), Phase 2 (clerkship), Phase 3 (advanced study) learning environments and for the residents and faculty in the Hackensack Meridian Health Network.

Travel to off-site locations will be a key part of the individualized training and development program along with presentation and development of large workshops and webinars.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule and conduct site visits to ambulatory practices and/or inpatient settings for site evaluation and training and development for faculty and residents
  • Recruit faculty for the Longitudinal Clinical Placement (LCP) program
  • Observe teaching environments, provide growth-oriented feedback to faculty
  • Develop active learning sessions with clinical leaders and course directors
  • Implement faculty development programs with oversight of logistics (scheduling, space, AV services, supplies, registration)
  • Assess faculty training needs and guide improvements in communications between faculty, students, and staff
  • Assist in creating the Interprofessional Educational Program (IPE) and upkeep of faculty development tools and presence (flyers, digital communication, webinar maintenance)
  • Develop and maintain faculty development digital content and presence (website, videos, digital communication, catalog of resources)
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned
  • Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior; ensure CME-eligible sessions and CME credits when applicable
Qualifications

Education, Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education or related fields such as health education
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching in small groups and public speaking in large groups
  • Demonstrated leadership in assessment, design and development of training programs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work on a compressed timeline
  • Experience presenting in a hybrid setting (live and Zoom)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in independent and multiple settings (office, clinical, remote)

Education, Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities

Preferred

  • Master’s degree
  • 1 year of full-time faculty development experience in a medical school or academic medical center/hospital setting
  • Experience working in an inter-professional educational (IPE) setting
  • Experience in training and development in ambulatory or inpatient clinical settings for learners at different levels
  • Faculty development experience in programs across UGME, GME and CME
Compensation

Minimum rate of $82,513.60 Annually. Hackensack Meridian Health is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted rate is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay at the time of posting and may not reflect the full value of our total rewards package.
