Training & Applications Engineer

Overview

Location: Based in the Midlands of England, though role will be nationwide.

Working hours: Full time, permanent

XYZ Machine Tools LTD are a leading supplier of Machine Tools into the UK, with over 25,000 machine tools supplied to date. We are looking for an apprentice trained CNC applications engineer or programmer/machinist from within the machine tool industry to join our dedicated team of field-based training & applications engineers (turning & milling experience would be a strong advantage).

The successful applicant will have done a minimum of a 4-year apprenticeship in the engineering sector preferably with CNC programming/machining experience. The applicant should be comfortable working with machine tools & have excellent communication skills.

Experience with Proto

TRAK® and Siemens controlled machines beneficial although not essential as training will be given on control requirements of the machines.

• Training customers to use the XYZ Machine Tools’ extensive range of machines.
• Supporting customers to meet their needs for their machine
• Demonstrating Machines to customers pre and post sales
• Troubleshooting and resolve customer issues
• Providing technical support when required
• Feedback and report issues raised for future best-practice improvement
• Recommend process improvement for efficiency and cost-reduction

Full training is provided and will initially be at our Devon HQ and further training will be given onsite senior team members – as well as an ongoing training programme with a personal development plan to keep us at the forefront of the industry.

Please note:

role will involve some nights away and visits to customer sites, and XYZ showrooms nationally.
