Production Engineer : CNC​/CAD CAM

Overview

A CAD CAM Engineer is sought by a leading precision engineering and manufacturing business who have won significant new programmes with defence and aerospace customers. Role:
Production Engineer – CNC / CAD CAM. Salary: GBP 40,000 to GBP 45,000.

Location:

Nuneaton.

• Develop and optimise CNC programmes and cutting/toolpaths to produce high-precision tooling and components
• Ensure correct tooling, holders and machine selection prior to programming
• Collaborate with machinists to resolve machining issues and support production
• Maintain accurate programming documentation and revision control
• Support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team
• Support the quotation process with lead times and costs

• Expert knowledge of CNC multi-axis milling machinery: setting/operating/programming using online and offline software
• Able to use and adapt different CAD/CAM packages:
  WorkNC, Power Mill and Power Shape or similar
• Expert knowledge in CNC machine tooling and fixturing
• Experience with 3D modelling is essential
• Demonstrable knowledge of ISO
  9001 and AS9100 standards are desirable
• High attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
• Mechanical engineering background with experience in high-tolerance machining of components and tooling, ideally for aerospace, defence, automotive or similar industry sectors
