This position is a key hire to oversee operational integrity and performance of all production equipment. Included in this will be the development and implementation of asset care strategies, conducting regular inspections, and utilising preventative maintenance schedules and gathering detailed data on equipment performance to develop actionable insights for enhancing reliability and efficiency.

Within the role, you will also have a focus on continuous improvement (CI) and site performance enhancements, which will include identifying opportunities as a self‑starter, leading cross‑functional teams, and participating in equipment upgrades and modifications to support long‑term operational objectives and sustainability goals.

In addition, you’ll be hands‑on with fault‑finding and support with breakdowns when required, sharing knowledge across engineering, and ensuring the maintenance of detailed documentation.

Work Pattern

4‑on/4‑off days only

Contribution Areas
  • Overseeing operational integrity and performance of all production equipment, developing and implementing asset care strategies, and conducting regular inspections and audits to identify condition‑based maintenance (CBM) opportunities
  • Using preventative maintenance techniques to create comprehensive planned maintenance schedules to minimise equipment downtime and improve reliability and availability of plant assets
  • Interrogating software and gathering detailed data on equipment performance (OEE) and using analytical tools to interpret data to develop actionable insights to enhance equipment performance and reliability
  • Assisting the planning and evaluation of improvement projects, ensuring they align with operational goals
  • Leading and actively participating in CI projects focused on increasing site reliability, operational efficiency, and safety standards
  • Providing expert input (such as impact of proposed changes) on potential upgrades and modifications to optimise performance and efficiency, working with OEMs and contractors to ensure seamless integration
  • Designing and refining comprehensive fault‑finding procedures and techniques to ensure swift and effective issue resolution
  • Ensuring documentation is regularly updated and easily accessible and equipping the wider engineering team with the necessary knowledge, tools, and methodologies to diagnose and address faults
  • Working closely with production, quality, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless and efficient operations through open communication
  • Optimising line performance to meet and exceed key performance indicators in the areas of equipment reliability and efficiency
Qualifications
  • Educated in a relevant field (apprenticeship to HNC level or equivalent) with deep, relevant practical experience within a maintenance or preventative‑related engineering role with a mechanical engineering bias
  • Experienced in engineering practices on maintenance management
  • Proficient in condition, vibration, and thermal based maintenance techniques including analysis and interpretation of gathered data
  • Experienced with fault‑finding techniques for PLC controls and SCADA systems, and able to use CMMS systems
  • Team orientated and take pride in working to support colleagues to achieve overall asset care goals, whilst also being able to work on your own to deliver planned maintenance routines
  • Experienced with demonstratable knowledge of condition monitoring and preventative maintenance techniques
  • Able to effectively influence and communicate at all levels
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to think strategically and multitask
  • A strong analytical thinker with planning and decision‑making skills
  • A skilled problem solver, and able to escape when appropriate, communicating actions and mitigation implementation plans clearly
