Lead Fire Alarm Technician

ZING is hiring on behalf of a well-established fire protection client serving Michigan. This is a lead-level role supporting commercial customers with scheduled inspections and service, plus an on-call rotation. • Test and inspect fire alarm systems in commercial buildings
• Respond to service requests, diagnose malfunctions, and repair/replace equipment to restore compliance
• Perform testing and inspection per NFPA and local code standards
• Complete accurate, timely inspection and service reports
• Participate in an on-call rotation as scheduled

• Valid drivers license with 3 or fewer points
• 3+ years licensed driving experience
• 2+ years hands-on fire alarm experience (lead-level preferred)
• Special hazards experience strongly preferred (FM-200; Halon a plus)
• Strong troubleshooting/diagnostics skills (preferred, not required)
• NICET preferred (not required, but a solid advantage)
• Working knowledge of common fire alarm brands:
  Simplex, Notifier, Fire-Lite
• Comfortable on ladders (6 ft), lifts, and in tight spaces
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs and work overhead
• Strong customer communication skills and detailed service write-ups
• Highly organized with service tickets and required documentation

• Hourly pay based on experience and certifications (30/hr - 45hr)
• Potential quarterly bonuses
• Time and a half for hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am
• 4-hour minimum at time and a half for emergency service calls
• Double time (4-hour minimum) for emergency calls on recognized holidays, plus 8 hours of holiday pay
