Lead Fire Sprinkler Technician

ZING is hiring on behalf of a well-established fire protection client serving Michigan. This is a lead-level sprinkler role focused on inspecting, servicing, and repairing fire sprinkler systems for an established commercial customer base. On-call rotation is part of the role, because fires do not respect business hours.

• Perform service calls, including emergency troubleshooting and repairs
• Inspect and service fire sprinkler systems for existing customers
• Identify code violations and non-conformance issues
• Interpret and apply NFPA 25 standards during testing and inspections
• Perform fire pump flow tests preferred, but not required
• Complete accurate, timely service tickets and inspection reports
• Communicate clearly with customers about work performed and required repairs

• Valid driver’s license with 3 or fewer points
• 3+ years of licensed driving experience
• 2+ years inspecting and repairing fire sprinkler systems
• Strong knowledge and understanding of NFPA codes
• NICET certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working on ladders (6–12 ft), lifts, and in tight spaces
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs and work overhead
• Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable with documentation and service tickets

• Hourly pay, negotiable based on experience (30/hr - 45/hr)
• Time and a half for hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am
• 4-hour minimum at time and a half for emergency service calls
• Double time (4-hour minimum) for emergency calls on recognized holidays, plus 8 hours of holiday pay
