Fire Sprinkler Technician Apprentice

About The Opportunity

Fire Systems of Michigan is currently hiring a Technician Apprentice for the Fire Sprinkler division. This is a great opportunity to learn a growing and in‑demand trade. Fire Systems of Michigan will train you to become a licensed, certified Fire Sprinkler Technician.

• Hourly position; pay rate contingent on experience and background, discussed during interview.
• Potential quarterly bonuses.
• All hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am are paid at time rate, with half rate for every day of the week.

• A current valid driver's license with 3 or fewer points is required.
• Three years of licensed driving experience is required.
• Experience using a variety of hand tools such as channel locks and pipe wrenches.
• Willing to work varied hours, nights, early mornings, and weekend shifts when needed.
• Capable and willing to learn and study about the different fire sprinkler systems in order to pass tests and become certified.
• Must be comfortable working on ladders 6 to 12 ft and on lifts.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to work overhead and in unusual or small spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
• Skills to communicate well with customers and explain the work being done and any repairs that are necessary.
• Skills to write well and be very detailed in your write‑up of service work.
• Must be well organized and be able to keep track of service tickets and process all required documents for each service performed.
