GENERAL
SUMMARY:
* Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
* Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
* Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
* Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
* Delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing procedures.
* Performs scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
* Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
* Prepares rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
* Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
* Previous 1-2 years recent related clinical nursing experience and a demonstrated level of performance and practice required.
* Previous Endoscopy experience required.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES
REQUIRED:
* Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
On Call hours required, additional shifts available to pick up at Henry Ford Southfield location
