Klawsome! is Michigan’s first stand‑alone claw machine arcade, offering a unique and exciting experience where customers can test their skills to win kawaii‑style plushies from vibrantly colored claw machines. These prizes can then be traded up for larger and rarer stuffed animals and anime figurines. We are a family‑owned local business based in Novi, Michigan, inspired by the popular arcades in Asian countries.

Reports to: Store Manager and Assistant Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Web & E‑commerce Associate to create and implement our website,  This project requires an individual with strong design capabilities, practical problem‑solving skills, a keen understanding of effective website policies and content strategy, and expert proficiency in web development, particularly within the Squarespace platform.

• Website Design: Develop a modern, intuitive, and visually appealing website design that accurately represents the Klawsome! brand and enhances user experience.
• Content & Strategy Input: Collaborate with the Klawsome! team to strategically plan website content, messaging, and user policies (e.g., FAQs, terms of service outlines) to ensure clarity and effectiveness.
• Squarespace Development: Build, configure, and launch the website using the Squarespace platform. This includes implementing custom code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) as needed to achieve specific design or functional requirements. Prior coding experience is not necessary as most of the website configuration is from the Squarespace framework, but it is preferred.
• Responsiveness: Ensure the website is fully responsive and optimized for seamless viewing and interaction across all devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
• SEO Fundamentals: Implement basic search engine optimization (SEO) best practices to improve organic visibility.
• Communication: Maintain clear, proactive communication throughout the project, providing regular updates on progress and addressing any challenges effectively.

• Demonstrable design acumen with an eye for aesthetics and user‑centered design principles.
• Experience in Squarespace development and customization.
• Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities, with a practical approach to website development and content strategy.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively and provide professional recommendations.
• Willingness to learn new concepts (e.g., functionality of Squarespace framework, coding concepts, etc.)
