Job Title: Endoscopy Technician Job Summary

The Endoscopy Technician supports physicians and nursing staff in the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality endoscopic procedures. This role is responsible for preparing procedure rooms, assisting during procedures, and ensuring proper cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of endoscopic equipment in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

• Prepare endoscopy procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies prior to patient arrival
• Assist physicians and nursing staff during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures
• Perform proper cleaning, high-level disinfection, and storage of endoscopic equipment according to established protocols
• Monitor and maintain inventory of endoscopy supplies and notify leadership of shortages
• Transport patients and specimens as required
• Ensure adherence to infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards
• Accurately document equipment processing, patient data, and procedure-related information
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and coordinate service or repairs as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in continuing education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or formal endoscopy technician training preferred
• Previous healthcare or procedural support experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy, particularly gastrointestinal anatomy
• Familiarity with infection control practices and reprocessing guidelines
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift, push, or pull patients and equipment
• Manual dexterity to handle delicate instruments
• Work performed in a clinical or procedural healthcare environment

• May include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities depending on facility needs
