Summary:
a talented and experienced Radiology Interventional Technologist to join a dynamic team in a cutting-edge interventional radiology department. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about precision imaging, patient care, and performing advanced, minimally invasive procedures in a high-acuity environment.
Working under the direct supervision of a radiologist, you’ll support complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that are critical in the evaluation and treatment of serious medical conditions — particularly in a comprehensive stroke facility. This is a unique opportunity to use your expertise in neurovascular imaging and interventional techniques while contributing to life-saving care.
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining protocols and answering questions with compassion and clarity.
- Obtain relevant medical history to ensure proper planning and risk mitigation.
- Prepare and administer prescribed contrast media, IV solutions, and medications in alignment with protocol.
- Set up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and advanced imaging systems.
- Assist radiologists during complex, invasive procedures by maintaining sterile fields, managing imaging equipment, and supporting the scrub-in process.
- Ensure all necessary instruments, catheters, and disposable materials are properly stocked and available.
- Assess and monitor patient conditions before, during, and after procedures, responding promptly to any clinical changes.
- Execute all imaging procedures with attention to ALARA (radiation safety) standards, shielding, and equipment optimization.
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging technology, including Siemens systems and integrated PACS platforms.
- Complete all post-procedure tasks, including equipment clean-up, 3D imaging processing, and digital archiving.
- Manage patient records and image data in the Cerner EMR and RIS systems, ensuring accurate documentation, study indexing, and protocol compliance.
- Participate in training and mentoring of new staff or students assigned to the department.
- Consistently demonstrate professional standards aligned with patient-centered care, communication excellence, and teamwork.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of interventional radiology experience, including neurological cases.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with advanced credentials in Cardiac-Interventional (CI), Vascular-Interventional (VI), or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CV) Radiography.
- Proficient in sterile technique and assisting in invasive procedures.
- Strong understanding of neurovascular anatomy, stroke interventions, and related imaging protocols.
- Experience in a comprehensive stroke facility or neuro-interventional environment.
- Familiarity with 3D imaging, Siemens imaging systems, and Cerner EMR.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with radiologists, physicians, and nursing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm, focused, and responsive in high-pressure procedural settings.
On-site position based in Michigan.
This is a 13-week contract with the potential for extension.
