Job Description & How to Apply Below

Join Racelogic USA and lead the day-to-day finance that keeps a growing technology business moving.

Racelogic is a British technology company headquartered in Buckingham, UK, specialising in the design and manufacture of electronic measurement and data systems. Products – sold under brands including VBOX Automotive, VBOX Motorsport, and Lab Sat – serve customers in over 100 countries.

Racelogic USA, based in Novi, Michigan, is the company’s directly-operated North American subsidiary, serving OEM, Tier 1, motor sport, and emerging technology customers, and operating as an integrated part of the wider Racelogic group.

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Finance Manager to lead the day-to-day financial operations of Racelogic USA, combining hands‑on transactional finance with ownership of monthly reporting, compliance, and coordination with the UK parent company.

The Role

The Finance Manager leads the day-to-day financial operations of Racelogic USA. Reporting to the US Managing Director, the role combines hands‑on transactional finance – sales invoicing, accounts payable, and credit control – with responsibility for monthly management accounts, compliance, and financial reporting to the UK parent company. This is a broad, standalone position suited to someone equally comfortable at ledger level and presenting financial results to senior management, with the ability to work independently while maintaining close coordination with the UK finance team.

Responsibilities

and Duties
  • Transactional Finance: Create and issue sales invoices accurately and promptly across Racelogic USA’s product lines; process accounts payable invoices with appropriate authorization and timely payment; lead credit control and maintain accurate customer payment records; manage the AR ledger, ensuring receipts are allocated promptly and system accuracy is maintained.
  • Financial Reporting & Control: Prepare accurate monthly management accounts; submit financial information in line with group reporting requirements and UK timelines; perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations; maintain ledger integrity and financial controls.
  • Compliance & Tax: Ensure ongoing compliance with US GAAP, applicable federal and state requirements, and sales tax obligations; support payroll processing and related compliance; coordinate with external accountants and tax advisors for annual filings and ad‑hoc advice.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Management: Support annual budgets and periodic forecasts with the US MD and UK finance team; monitor performance vs budget with variance analysis and commentary; monitor the US cash position, ensuring timely payments and proactive management of receivables.
  • Group Coordination: Align reporting and accounting practices with group policies and standards; provide accurate, timely data for UK consolidation; build strong working relationships with the UK finance team to support cross‑border processes.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA preferred but not essential where experience is strong.
  • Proven experience in an operational finance role within an SME or subsidiary environment.
  • Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, sales tax compliance, and payroll obligations.
  • Demonstrable experience preparing monthly management accounts, performing reconciliations, and managing AP and AR directly.
  • Exposure to multi‑entity or cross‑border reporting structures is an advantage.
  • Hands‑on and self‑sufficient, comfortable across transactional finance and management reporting.
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills; able to manage multiple priorities to agreed timescales.
  • Able to work independently within a small team, exercising sound judgment on day‑to‑day matters.
  • Clear and confident communicator, effective with colleagues across time zones – particularly UK‑based finance and senior management teams.
  • Proactive accounting mindset: sense‑checking figures, questioning anomalies, and ensuring outputs are consistently reliable.
What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation: salary commensurate with experience, reviewed regularly.
  • Comprehensive benefits: company‑sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement savings:
Safe Harbor 401(k) plan with employer contribution.
  • Paid time off: vacation allowance, public holidays, and paid sick leave.
  • Stability & support: a permanent role within a well‑established, growing global business.
  • Collaborative environment: work as part of a close‑knit US team with strong support from international colleagues.
