Overview
I’m currently partnered with a Tier 1 Automotive manufacturing company who are looking for a Purchasing Specialist to support on their procurement and sourcing for qualified suppliers for their internal production plants and assembly programs.
ResponsibilitiesThe core elements of this role will include the review of tooling cost breakdowns, evaluating tooling costs for new programs, assessing supplier quotes, maintaining standards for tool evaluation, providing ECI cost analysis for stamping tooling and assisting in the determination of tooling costs. This role will work with production suppliers to ensure cost models are being adhered to as well as contacting/visiting supply bases for tool evaluation and negotiation.
Qualifications- Demonstrable experience in a technical tool management role, ideally within the automotive (or Tier 1/2) supplier space – ideally have a strong understanding of production tooling cost models in this domain
- Understanding of purchasing, manufacturing, production control and material management
- Want someone who has a stamping background and understands nuances such as cost breakdowns, troubleshooting, continued support (refurbishment, replacement, fixes, etc.)
- Should understand tool life expectancy & need for replacement and refurbishment
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time across North America
