Customer Program Manager (A123 Systems LLC; Novi, MI)
The Customer Program Manager is responsible for defining and managing the technical, timing, and budget of multiple projects while being the primary interface between customer and the internal engineering and management teams. The Customer Program Manager reports to the Executive Director Corporate Strategy and Business Development.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Managing all internal and/or external customer deliverables.
- Providing leadership to a matrixed, cross‑functional team.
- Conduct budgeting and piecing price targets.
- Documenting and tracking compliance to customer’s technical and commercial requirements along with developing solutions to address any/all identified gaps.
- Developing and maintaining project primary project timelines.
- Providing regular project status reports to customer as well as internal senior management.
- Co‑lead development, sourcing, and managing key suppliers.
- Driving towards rapid identification and resolution of any and all engineering related performance, cost and timing issues regardless of where the issue originates (customer, engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply base, etc).
- 10% domestic travel to client locations.
Master’s Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Information Technology Leadership, or related field plus 3 years of experience with program management. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Information Technology Leadership, or related field plus 5 years of experience with program management.
Must have- 2 years of experience in developing and installing process disciplines.
- 1 year of experience with Lithium Chemistry and Cell Development.
- Demonstrated ability with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Demonstrated manufacturing and plant experience.
- Demonstrated ability launching new programs utilizing Production Part Approval Process Standards (PPAP).
- Demonstrated proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
