Mechanical Engineer

• Leads Component development mechanical fabrication, assembly, and debug activities to ensure successful delivery
• Identifies areas of risk and work quickly to prototype and mitigate these
• Engages with component suppliers to specify and acquire quotes
• Performs 3D design and GD&T drawings of complex parts and assemblies
• Performs Design for manufacturing analysis
• Optimizes designs via analytical, numerical, and/or empirical assessments
• Performs self-guided R&D around novel pack structures and mechanical design
• Performs any additional duties as assigned

• Bachelors or better in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• 3D modeling experience using NX and Teamcenter
• Hands‑on experience in leading hardware designs from conceptual design through proof‑of‑concept
• Hands‑on experience performing component testing, including test plan ownership and model correlation
• Experience working in an R&D prototype development environment
• Familiarity with small‑volume manufacturing technologies and methods, and experience working with outside suppliers for same
• Experience with design for manufacturing analysis for stamping, casting and plastic injection molded components
• Structural analysis of metals and/or composites, including test data processing, loads derivation and fatigue analyses
• Experience with design for challenging environmental conditions in terms of vibration, water intrusion, corrosion, and thermal
• Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills
