At The Country Vet, we offer primary care for dogs and cats in Novato. We are fully staffed and open for same-day appointments. The Country Vet is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join Thrive Pet Healthcare.
RoleAs a Registered Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our patients. Your work ranges from hands-on care of outpatient treatments and laboratory tests to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Responsibilities- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- Assist with hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and treatments.
- Maintain relevant medical records with the support of practice systems.
- Obtain health history from clients and maintain medical charts.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs clean and organized.
- Mentor and support fellow team members.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Compassion and care for animals; effective and respectful communication with team members and clients
- Value client education and assist with some reception work when needed
- Positive, can-do attitude; ability to work collaboratively and be self-directed
- Strong problem-solving abilities (judgment, logic, creativity, conflict resolution)
- Flexible schedule
- 2 years veterinary experience
- Current Veterinary Technician licensure in California

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience, with an hourly pay rate starting at $29 - $35/hour. The actual rate will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
