The full interview process consists of one Zoom screen, a first and second interview, and a skills assessment.
Pay range: $25.94 - $26.20/hour, DOE with a $1,000 sign-on bonus. Generous benefits package including medical, dental, and vision benefits, life insurance, paid vacation and sick time, 15 paid holidays/year, employee assistance program, up to 2% retirement employer match, and childcare discount.
Schedule: Full-time, hourly non-exempt (40 hours/week). Monday-Friday position; hours may vary. The position will work onsite at 1907 Novato Blvd. The schedule for Tuesday/food pantry day are 8am-4:30pm; other hours are more flexible.
NMCS is expanding its food pantry into a Community Market model. The Food Pantry Coordinator will play a key role in supporting this growth and deepening our impact across the community. The Food Pantry Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Food Pantry, cultivating relationships with food pantry volunteers and participants, organizing activities with San Francisco Marin Food Bank, tracking food pantry attendance and coordinating weekly Tuesday food pantry, and working closely with Lead Food Pantry Volunteers.
Other duties assigned, including donor relations and development support.
- Serve as lead coordinator for the NMCS Food Pantry at 1907 Novato Blvd.
- Coordinate the functions involved with a community food pantry. This includes:
Tuesday Food Pantry operations, two shifts each with 20-25 volunteers, align with SF Marin Food Bank (SFMFB) guidelines, and NMCS Food Pantry Program Manual. Manage food pantry volunteer relations and scheduling with support from HR (including posting food pantry shifts in Volunteer Matters and tracking volunteer attendance). - Respond to questions and complaints from food pantry participants and redirect information as appropriate.
- Maintain a strong relationship with key food pantry volunteers to ensure the flow of the food pantry.
- Maintain relationships with community partners for managing extra produce.
- Conduct food pantry volunteer orientation for new volunteers.
- Communicate important updates to volunteers via email and oversee a smooth, safe experience for participants navigating the food pantry; communicate frequently with volunteers to solicit feedback, ensure satisfaction, and express appreciation.
- Maintain internal spreadsheets and act as the primary NMCS Food Pantry representative for delivery and invoice changes.
- Work with Operations and Administration staff to support food pantry distribution, enrollments, and food pantry data tracking.
- Complete weekly data entry to track pantry attendance; maintain and track emergency food pantry donations throughout the year.
- Ensure best practices for food handling and storage to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Serve as liaison to the Case Management program.
- Partner with Director of Operations for construction planning and feasibility.
- Work closely with SFMFB and other community markets for collaboration and partnership.
- In partnership with the Development Dept, coordinate and lead monthly donor tours of Food Pantry and Novato Blvd Center.
- Represent NMCS and Food Pantry throughout the community via outreach events.
- Coordinate with community partners for donation pickups around the Bay Area (either with an NMCS vehicle or mileage reimbursed for personal vehicle use).
- Log and track food donations that come to NMCS through community partners.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
- Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more to move food or load vehicles.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching to organize and distribute food.
