Overview
Bank of Marin, voted by our employees as one of the “Best Places to Work” in the North Bay Business Journal, is seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager to join our Commercial Banking Office in Novato, California.
The Senior Portfolio Manager supports the respective Commercial Banking Office. The Senior Portfolio Manager is primarily responsible for managing the loan application process, including the credit analysis, underwriting, documentation and loan closing for prospects and clients to which they are assigned. The Senior Portfolio Manager is also responsible for ensuring their assigned loan portfolio is properly risk-graded, in compliance with loan agreements/approvals and potential risks are identified and addressed.
The Senior Portfolio Manager will provide quality service to clients by independently, directing and assisting with needs and inquiries by phone/in person/ email, will partner with Regional Managers where practical. Gathers information for new loan requests, coordinates with Credit Analysts on loan package preparation and proposals, works with Credit Administration to properly document loans and closes loans with borrowers when needed.
Has excellent understanding of most loan types and other related requirements and can independently work to meet those requirements. Monitors current loan portfolio to identify risks and maintain up to date loan files. Has excellent knowledge of all deposit and Treasury Services products, as well as all other services offered to commercial clients. The Senior Portfolio Manager will generally review and/or make larger, more complex loans and may provide guidance to Portfolio Manager I, II and III positions.
Works with little supervision while supporting the Commercial Banking Offices. Experience with analysis of the Healthcare Industry and understanding of practice financing required.
- Manage the loan application process, including credit analysis, underwriting, documentation and loan closing for assigned prospects and clients.
- Ensure the assigned loan portfolio is properly risk-graded and in compliance with loan agreements/approvals; identify and address potential risks.
- Provide quality service to clients by handling inquiries by phone, in person, or email and partnering with Regional Managers where practical.
- Gather information for new loan requests; coordinate with Credit Analysts on loan package preparation and proposals; work with Credit Administration to document loans and close loans with borrowers when needed.
- Maintain up-to-date loan files and monitor the loan portfolio to identify risks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of deposit and Treasury Services products and other services offered to commercial clients.
- Review and/or execute larger, more complex loans and provide guidance to Portfolio Manager I, II and III as appropriate.
- Work with little supervision while supporting the Commercial Banking Offices.
- Apply experience in healthcare industry analysis and practice financing as required.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in a related field and minimum 5–7 years of relevant banking experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The hiring pay range for this position is $128,976 to $180,562. In addition to the pay range listed, all bank positions are eligible for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The pay rate for a successful applicant depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
