The key function is to support NHS Property Services in delivering building services maintenance and repairs across the NHS to ensure buildings are maintained to the highest standards and to provide a safe and secure environment for visitors, customers, and employees.
Main duties of the jobEnsure compliance in line with all processes/procedures and policies that meets organisational standards/requirements including but not limited to our Health & Safety Policy/HTMs (Health Technical Memoranda) and SFG
20. Ensuring new or revised policies are implemented within own work areas. Deliver planned and reactive maintenance services from the PPM planner, ensuring that operational standards are maintained at all times. Duties may include (but not limited to) fault finding, minor repairs or installations and maintaining services and equipment within critical environments. Ability to assess problems to determine the best course of action, this would include complex technical issues.
To maintain effective site log books at all NHS premises ensuring that they are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Work with and support the Projects/Construction team and Technical Supervisor in identifying, scoping, and delivering minor capital works for NHS premises. Able to plan and organise a number of complex activities and adapt within a changing and challenging work environment.
Able to provide solutions to problems and undertake new installations from design to completion. Provides practical training to staff and contractors. e.g. site inductions and emergency procedures.

We have a permanent opportunity for a Maintenance Technician - Electrical to join our team, supporting a range of NHS sites across Nottingham, Derby and Mansfield.
- Salary:
Starting from £39,000 per annum + On call allowance - Hours:
Monday‑Friday 8am‑4.30pm - Van & tools provided
- DBS check will be conducted; training will be provided where required
Key Responsibilities This role will deliver a full electrical maintenance service across NHS Property Services buildings, in line with our policies, procedures, and safety standards. The role includes both electrical maintenance and occasional electrical installation tasks.
Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across assigned NHS sites
- Completing minor electrical installation works (e.g., small power installations)
- Supporting wider facilities operations to ensure safe and compliant environments
- Ensuring all work meets statutory and organisational standards
- Where skilled, supporting additional general maintenance tasks
Your base hub will be Ashfield Health and Wellbeing Centre - Kirkby in Ashfield, covering the regional patch of:
- Nottingham
- Derby
- Mansfield
This is a manageable, localised region with no excessive travel.
