Key Account Manager – 12 Month FTC

Location:

Nottingham, Nottinghamshire
Salary: up to £50,000 per annum, based on experience
Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)

Hours:

Full Time, Monday to Friday

Express Recruitment is working with an industry‑leading manufacturer seeking a Key Account Manager to join their team near Nottingham for a 12‑month maternity cover contract.

The ideal candidate will have experience within the FMCG sector, preferably in beauty, fashion or related areas, and a proactive approach to building relationships with key partner brands to create new business opportunities and win new customers.

Competitive remuneration includes a basic salary up to £50k DOE, hybrid and flexible working, and a range of benefits.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for key customer accounts, fostering strong strategic relationships and ensuring business alignment.
  • Develop and execute account plans to achieve growth targets, including upselling, cross‑selling and new business opportunities.
  • Lead pricing discussions, manage sales budgets and review account performance and profitability.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal teams such as sales, marketing, R&D, procurement and production.
  • Own the end‑to‑end business development process from evaluating customer briefs to tender submission.
  • Proactively promote company capabilities through presentations, site visits and trade events.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in a similar role within FMCG.
  • Experience in beauty, fashion or food sectors is advantageous.
  • Ability to build relationships and negotiate contracts.
  • Proactive mindset with a drive to acquire new business.
  • Excellent communication skills.
