We are recruiting for a Picker to join the Frag (Shredder) team at our new Nottingham site.
The shredder is a key piece of plant within the operation, and this role plays an important part in maintaining product quality and supporting safe, efficient throughput. Working under the direction of the Frag Manager, you will be responsible for manually picking and removing unwanted materials from designated processing areas.
This is a physically demanding, hands‑on role requiring focus, stamina and strong safety awareness.
Key Responsibilities- Manually pick and remove non-conforming or unwanted materials from conveyor belts and processing lines
- Ensure correct material segregation to maintain product quality and maximise recovery value
- Monitor material flow and report any contamination issues
- Support operational efficiency by maintaining clear and safe working areas
- Follow instructions from the Frag Manager and site supervisors
- Report hazards, blockages or equipment concerns promptly
- Assist during planned stoppages where required
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Remain alert to moving plant, conveyors and vehicle movements
- Follow site Health & Safety procedures and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Report near misses, unsafe conditions or incidents immediately
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within your working area
- Physically fit and able to undertake manual, repetitive work
- Strong safety awareness
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Previous experience within recycling, waste processing or industrial environments
- Experience working around conveyor systems or heavy plant
- Hardworking and dependable
