Overview

Due to ever increasing work and demand for our products, Tomcat Motorsport Ltd is again recruiting. We are looking for Welder Fabricator as follows:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator/Welder. The candidate will possess strong welding and fabrication skills, with experience in MIG and TIG welding and sheet metal work. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilising a variety of hand / power tools and machines to build chassis frames, axles / axle modifications, suspension mounts, body mounting, doors, steering mounts, engine mounts and so on.

Tig welding skills will be required to weld mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium to make role cage components, specialist tanks, panels and exhausts to name but a few. Other work will include welding repairs, prototyping, using gas cutting equipment. The above skills are required in the building and maintenance of Tomcat vehicles and components.

Responsibilities
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding and other welding techniques to fabricate and assemble the detailed components listed, working from technical drawings, and verbal and written instructions.
  • Challenging Prototyping and solutions to new problems is a significant skill required
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other materials
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics accurately
  • Conduct quality checks on completed welds and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with safety standards and client requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
  • Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or structures
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality
Requirements
  • Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding, the use of gas cutting equipment
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment for sheet metal work
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Basic mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during fabrication processes
  • Experience in assembly processes within a manufacturing environment is desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing precise work
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in welding or fabrication are advantageous but not essential
