Job Outline

Due to retirement, my client, who is a leading manufacturer of specialist electronic equipment, now seeks a Head of Manufacturing to join their growing team based in Nottinghamshire.

My client is looking for someone who is an effective manager of people with excellent leadership skills and a proven track record of running a manufacturing team.

Ideally with a background in electronic engineering, you should be able to demonstrate that you have successfully ensured on time delivery of a high-quality product and that you have implemented new, and improved existing, production processes in previous roles.

You will preferably have experience working in a small company, or a company manufacturing high quality electronic products.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will include ensuring all orders are manufactured on time and to a high quality, as well as determining the strategic direction of manufacturing operations, including continuous improvement of processes to increase efficiency.

As Head of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing including Staff, Resources and processes to ensure manufacturing is delivered on time.

You will also take responsibility for the implementation of new products into production, ensuring there is sufficient manufacturing resources and working closely with the engineering team to ensure a smooth transition from prototype to production.

In addition, you will also work closely with the COO and the Engineering team to improve staff training, and ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between quality, engineering and the manufacturing team for successful job completion.

Experience

As the successful candidate, you will be an experienced leader with a proven ability to optimise team performance and development.

Along with strong communication skills, you should have experience of managing manufacturing budgets and have a high level of knowledge about production processes, systems and compliance standards. For example, experience of SAP, ERP systems and their successful implementation and integration.

You should also have experience of having worked in an environment with a strong emphasis on product quality, for example having developed or audited processes such as ISO
9001, ISO
17025 or equivalent.

Qualifications

It is expected that you will have a HND or higher in Electronic Engineering or similar.
