Trainee CNC Setter​/Operator

Due to internal promotions, this sector‑leading manufacturing company is looking to recruit Trainee CNC Machinists / Operators at their manufacturing site based in South Nottingham. This is a great career path to becoming a full CNC Setter / Operator working on lathes / turning machines in a clean, well‑run manufacturing environment. As a successful candidate you will have the choice on which shifts you prefer to work.

• Mornings
  :
  Mon‑Thu 6 am–2 pm and Fri 6 am–1 pm
• Afternoons
  :
  Mon‑Thu 2 pm–10 pm and Fri 1 pm–8 pm (following week)

• Approx. £28,000 (≈ £14.50 per hour), 37.5 hrs per week
• 10 % shift premium for afternoon shifts
• Annual bonus scheme (up to 5 % of salary)

You will be taught by experienced CNC machinists how to use CNC turning centres with Fanuc and Mazatrol controls. Most products are plastic based and are used in high‑quality industries such as aerospace, oil & gas, and energy.

• Experience working within a manufacturing environment
• Preferably some CNC experience
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings, assembly procedures, bills of materials, and production routes
• Ability to prioritise workload according to order requirements
• Basic problem‑solving skills and ability to use measuring tools and interpret the information correctly
