We are seeking a detail-oriented Tool setter to join our precision engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate building of tooling assemblies to technical drawings, ensuring tools are correctly set and loaded into CNC machines, and installing Balluff identification chips for tool tracking and data management.

• Tool Assembly:
  Build and assemble cutting tool setups according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Tool Loading & Setup:
  Set up tool assemblies accurately, ensuring alignment with production requirements and machining programs.
• Balluff Chip Installation:
  Fit and program Balluff RFID chips into tooling systems for automated tool identification, tracking, and wear monitoring.
• Tool Inspection & Verification:
  Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, gauges, tool presetters) to verify tool dimensions, runout, and compliance with setup specifications.
• Collaboration & Communication:
  Work closely with Senior Team leaders, CNC machinists, programmers, and engineers.
• Tool Maintenance:
  Monitor and maintain tool condition, replace worn or damaged components, and perform basic tool servicing as required.
• Safety & Compliance:
  Follow company health and safety standards, and ensure all work complies with manufacturing quality systems and procedures.
• Inventory Management:
  Monitor stock levels in the vending system.

• Proven experience in a tool assembly or CNC machining environment.
• Ability to read and interpret basic tool build drawings.
• Competence in fitting and configuring Balluff (or similar) RFID chips in tooling system. (asset)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Tool setting experience in a machine shop environment.
• Experience using tool pre-setters and measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of automated tool tracking and tool life monitoring would be beneficial.
