Associate Solicitor – Buckles Law

Is an award‑winning firm providing world‑class client experience and services across a range of legal services in the UK and internationally.

We are recruiting a Private Client Solicitor to join a highly­performing team in either Peterborough or Nottingham. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience advising mass affluent clients with Inheritance Tax planning, Estate planning and administration work – ideally 3‑5 years PQE.

Some travel and out of hours working will be required for business development, meetings and training.

Responsibilities of a Private Client Solicitor
  • Integral part of the Private Client team, delivering a high‑quality service to specific clients in accordance with agreed processes.
  • Reporting to Line Manager and Partners to assist with general caseload, including IHT planning, wills, LPAs, some estate administration and lifetime trusts.
  • Ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and building appropriate relationships with clients.
  • Working to agreed and stringent deadlines.
  • Adherence to agreed quality procedures and management systems.
  • Undertake and deliver work in a commercially effective manner.
  • Develop technical and non‑technical skills to meet client and firm requirements and demonstrate continuous improvement.
  • Delivery of individual targets with minimal supervision.
  • Proactively attract work according to the needs of the firm.
Skills and experience of a Private Client Solicitor
  • Relevant Professional Qualification.
  • Strong legal skills and knowledge in a Private Client setting.
  • Responsible for a broad and varied caseload including IHT planning, wills and LPAs, some estate administration and lifetime trusts.
  • Ability to adhere to and work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Sound knowledge of all private matters with excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive and passionate about career development.
  • Proven results in supporting business development across a team or firm.
  • Working knowledge of case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Attention to detailed instructions and strong organisational skills.
  • Team player with a motivational, hands‑on approach.
  • Initiative, planning and prioritising own time and workload to meet deadlines.
  • Measured and rational problem‑solving approach.
  • Diplomatic client and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrates integrity and congruence when dealing with people.
