QA Automation Tester

• Devon (Hybrid-working - minimum of 2 days in the office, meaning you must be based locally)
• c £40,000 to £45,000 per year
• Pension, Bonuses, Training and Development, etc.

• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright.
• Solid understanding of web application architecture.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable test code (JavaScript/Type Script or C#).
• Strong understanding of test design and automation best practices.
• Ability to analyse failures and diagnose root causes effectively.
• Comfortable working closely with developers and challenging quality issues constructively.
• Experience using Jira or similar tools for defect and work tracking.
• Experience working with React and .NET-based systems.
• Knowledge of SQL Server for test data validation.
• Experience building automation in a low-maturity QA environment.
• Exposure to cloud-based systems and CI/CD tooling.
• Prior experience mentoring or supporting junior QA team members.
• Experience working in Agile or Kanban delivery environments.

The QA Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated testing capability across my client's entire management platform.

The role exists to increase confidence in releases, reduce regression risk and embed quality earlier in the development lifecycle.

This role will see you working closely with Software Engineers, Product, and QA to ensure automated tests are reliable, maintainable and aligned to real customer workflows, not just technical happy paths.

The role also plays a key part in improving shift-left testing practices, including supporting and influencing the adoption of effective unit testing across engineering teams.
