Senior Backend Engineer - Health Tech - £60,000 - £75,000

I'm working with a well-subscribed Health Tech as they continue to expand the team and their product offering. Having placed several of the technical staff and their head of engineering with them last year, I know it's a rewarding company with lots of room for continued growth and personal development.

That being said, the role is fairly challenging. You'll be given enough freedom to work remote-first (from within the uk), and will be expected to code to a decent level in terms of API-ability, scalability, security-aspects (especially given the business area), and working as part of a remote-first, multidiscilpinary team.

Whilst this is a backend first role, it would suit someone who has had experience of working with a front end team - aka not just throwing code over the fence and hoping it attaches but someone who understands some of the nuances and intricacies of frontend JS and can build a backend to complement this.

• Design & Build API services in Node.js and Typescript
• Work with integrating 3rd party services / APIs
• Work on architecture through AWS such as API Gateway, ECS, S3, Lambda etc
• Implement secure API design and authentication / authorisation (OAuth / SSO / JWT)
• Champion best practices (SOLID, Modular Design, High Standards) to protect patients sensitive data

• Strong skills with Node.js + Typescript - especially when building API-first services
• Strong experience with Mongo
  
  DB / Mongoose - modelling, indexing, querying etc
• AWS - SQS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, ECS
• Strong understanding of data security (TLS, secure API design, encryption etc)
• Remote-first - candidates must be based in the UK and willing to travel to offices (Midlands & North-West approx 4-6 times per year)
