The Role

As our People Partner, you’ll help our teams thrive, building strong performance, meaningful development, and healthy, sustainable ways of working. This role will play a key part in partnering with our newly created Sales Circle, while also flexing to support other teams as priorities shift. It’s a brilliant opportunity for someone who loves working close to the business, balancing commercial impact with a care for people.

Key Responsibilities Turning Our People Strategy Into Real Impact
  • Partner with the Head of People Experience to translate our People strategy into practical, high‑impact actions.
  • Work closely with leaders and team members across Sales and other commercial teams.
Partnering With Leaders and Teams
  • Act as a trusted People Partner, with a primary focus on the Sales Circle.
  • Support leaders with performance and feedback, team health and engagement, change, growth, and evolving roles.
  • Provide clear, pragmatic guidance that balances compliance and doing the right thing for people.
Performance, Growth & Accountability
  • Help build high‑performing, sustainable teams through clear expectations, goals, regular 1:1s, feedback and meaningful development conversations.
  • Support career paths and progression for sales and customer‑facing roles.
  • Coach leaders to manage performance confidently, fairly, and constructively.
Capability & Development
  • Identify capability gaps early, especially in fast‑growing or high‑pressure areas.
  • Design and deliver learning and development initiatives that support both individual growth and business needs.
  • Contribute to succession planning and talent development across Bright Local, not just within one area.
Engagement, Culture & Ways of Working
  • Own engagement initiatives, using feedback to drive real, visible improvements.
  • Support teams to balance pace and performance with wellbeing and sustainability.
  • Help embed Bright Local’s beliefs into how work gets done.
Insight, Data & Decision‑Making
  • Use people data, feedback, and insight to spot trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Share insights in a way that helps leaders make better people decisions.
What We Offer
  • Salary:
    Dependent on experience
  • Bonus:
    Up to 20% (10% company + 10% team performance)
  • Hybrid working: 2 days a week in our Brighton office
  • Flexible hours: 30+ hours per week considered
  • Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays + your birthday off

Experience That Will Help You Thrive
  • Proven experience at a People Partner level across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Experience working within an international business.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and people best practice.
  • A track record of partnering with leaders in sales or revenue‑generating teams.
  • Confidence handling sensitive situations with care and discretion.
  • Experience using people data to inform decisions.
  • Familiarity with HR systems (HiBob is a bonus).
  • Experience in fast‑paced, scale‑up or SaaS environments.
