An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Whisky Sommelier to join a luxury hospitality venue in Scotland.
This role is ideal for a whisky specialist who combines deep product knowledge with refined guest engagement skills and thrives in a premium, experience-led environment.
The RoleAs Whisky Sommelier, you will curate and deliver an outstanding whisky experience for guests, enhancing their stay through education, storytelling, and tailored recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:Curating and managing an extensive whisky collection
Conducting private tastings and guided whisky flights
Pairing whisky with tasting menus and special events
Advising guests on regional styles, maturation processes, and distillery heritage
Maintaining supplier relationships and managing stock control
Training front of house staff to enhance whisky knowledge
Supporting premium retail sales where applicable
This is a highly guest-facing role requiring confidence, presence, and exceptional communication skills.
Candidate ProfileStrong knowledge of Scotch whisky regions, production methods, and flavour profiling
Formal certification (e.g. WSET Level 2/3 Spirits or equivalent) preferred
Experience delivering structured tastings and premium service
Confident public speaker with engaging storytelling ability
Commercial awareness with upselling capability
Ability to relocate and live on-site
Live-in accommodation provided
