Overview

We are seeking 2 Grade 4 agency staff to join the team for 12 months. This role supports Care leavers and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) as part of the TESS team. The role includes outreach support, befriending, social development, and helping young people aged 16+ access community resources. It also involves working at the TESS Drop‑In provision and collaborating with the therapeutic team to improve emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships and personal resilience.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver practical support and guidance to young people aged 16+ and care leavers who experience emotional and relational difficulties.
  • Provide outreach support, befriending, social development and assistance with accessing community resources.
  • Support young people and care leavers / UASC at the TESS Drop‑In provision.
  • Collaborate with the therapeutic team to focus on improving emotional regulation and interpersonal relationships.
Qualifications
  • Training and awareness in issues relevant to young adults referred for emotional, behavioural and neurodevelopmental support, including separation and loss, emotional, behavioural and neurodevelopmental difficulties, mental health issues and developmental trauma.
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour, children, children’s social care, and leaving care.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Skills and experience as a support worker, with TESS experience covering a wide spectrum of concerns.
  • Ability to build relationships, connect and develop with young people; be safe and trusted and open to engage wit young people.
