Jubilee Park Medical Partnership are looking for a Health Care Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic team at our well-established practice, operating across two sites in Carlton and Lowdham. We are committed to providing high-quality care to our 12,300 patients and are looking for adedicated Health Care Assistant to join our supportive team for 30 hours per week over 4 days. Working days will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
Mainduties of the job
As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team and enhancing patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing phlebotomy (blood tests)
- Assisting with wound dressings
- Supporting the nursing team with various clinical tasks

To support the practice nursing team in the delivery of nursing services, working as partof the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. The healthcare assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education.
The following are the core responsibilities ofthe healthcare assistant. This list isnot exhaustive and will be added to as progression and need arises. There maybe on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload, staffing levels and training:
Support the practice nurse with health promotion programmes
Carryout baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature,pulse rate, recording findings accurately
Facilitate BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly
Undertakewound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required
Support the practice nurses with the management of chronic disease clinics and Long Term Condition checks
Carryout BMI checks as directed
Undertake venepuncture
Administer flu and other permissible vaccinations
Carryout ECGs as requested
Ensurespecimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
Provide support during minor operations as required
Ensureall clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
Ensurefridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance
Ensureclinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy
Deliveropportunistic health promotion where appropriate
Undertake home visits to housebound patients for dressings, bloods and other assessmentsas appropriate
Ordering and restocking of clinical equipment and consumables
Workingat all sites that make up Jubilee Park Medical Partnership
Attending Practice Learning Time and training sessions as required
Working collaboratively on PCN tasks were deemed appropriate by the practice anddirected by the management team or partners
Anyother reasonable requested task
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the healthcare assistant may be requested to:
Participate in practice audit as directed by the audit lead
Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
Support and participate in shared learning within the practice
Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
Person Specification Experience- Experience of working in a primary care environment
- Experience of working with the general public
- Flexibility to work outside of core office hours
- Occupational Health Clearance
- Ear syringing certification
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Clear, polite telephone manner
- Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
- Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
- Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
