Overview

Hospital and Service Context

Our maternity service has a variety of specialist clinics (both scan and non-scan) including mental health, vulnerable service users, twins, preterm birth, small baby and Rainbow. The services are multi-professional, including our specialist midwives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide consultant labour suite cover, elective caesarean lists, ward rounds, maternity triage, assessment unit cover and antenatal clinics as part of general obstetric commitments.
  • Join our multi-disciplinary diabetes in pregnancy service, with a weekly clinic and regular MDT meetings.
  • Operate within a two-tier gynaecology on-call consultant rota: one consultant covers emergency gynaecology at the QMC campus; the other is on-call for complex surgery (including oncology at City) and maternity on both campuses to support the obstetric team when required.
