About the Role

This senior role leads on complex and high-risk building control cases, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and contributing to public safety across Nottingham. The postholder provides technical leadership, mentors junior staff, and deputises for the Building Control Manager. Responsibilities include assessing plans, inspecting works, managing dangerous structures, and supporting enforcement actions. The role also plays a key part in commercial delivery, client relationship management, and service improvement.

It requires strong regulatory knowledge, analytical skills, and a commitment to innovation, inclusion, and high-quality service delivery.

About You The ideal candidate will have:
  • Registered Building Inspector Class 2F with the Building Safety Regulator (minimum).
  • In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations, Approved Documents, and allied legislation.
  • Ability to assess complex applications and inspect high-risk buildings.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
