Principal Finance Business Partner

NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Principal Finance Business Partner to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.

The Principal Finance Business Partner works with third party providers, insourced categories and other budget holders to drive astute financial and commercial decisions for complex, multi-million-pound areas of the business.

You will have responsibility for reporting and analysing your area of responsibility, driving and supporting the operational business to deliver against financial objectives. You will be required to provide advice to the business on complex issues, provide critical financial input and advice for annual planning, periodic forecasting, as well as long term and scenario planning. The role also provides vital financial input and expertise into strategic business cases, ensuring the financial case is robust and realistic.

You will have responsibility for financial contract management of third party providers, ensuring cost efficient service delivery.

  • Develop business cases or lead feasibility and assessment work for proposed and current projects to support the development and continuous review of business cases.
  • Translate business objectives into clearly defined business cases, costs, and schedules to support growth in the business.
  • Provide specialist financial decision support to senior management, resolving complex or contentious queries and issues and enabling others to take appropriate actions.
  • Manage a segment of the organisation's data collection and analysis activities.
  • Develop and deliver financial guidelines and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice.
