Finance Assistant​/Trainee Finance Assistant

This is an exciting time to join Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. Following significant organisational change, we are strengthening our Financial Management structure to support the Trust as it progresses through the second year of its multiyear financial recovery plan.

The post holders will work collaboratively across the Financial Management team, contributing to the delivery of high‑quality business and financial support for budget holders and managers. The role will assist Management Accountants with trend analysis, preparation of financial management accounts, and the implementation of robust controls and efficiencies across Care Groups and Corporate functions. This position is integral to maintaining accurate financial information and supporting informed decision‑making across the organisation.

• Reporting to the Management Accountant for coordination of work load and Care Group or Corporate Group for delivery, the post holder will provide financial support both to the entire financial management department on a prioritised basis, this will include all Care Groups and the Corporate Group including Estates and Research. The role will involve providing support to budget holders and management accountants by maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the financial ledgers to ensure the robustness of the financial information provided.

• To interact in a positive and supportive relationship with budget holders, managers, customers and colleagues.
• The post will demand corporate awareness and the need for confidentiality and discretion.
