At Microlise, we’re looking for a commercially minded, highly analytical Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to take the lead in driving our financial planning capability to the next level. If you’re passionate about building forward‑looking financial models, challenging assumptions, and influencing strategic decisions, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast‑growing, publicly listed tech organisation.
About the Role
As our FP&A Manager, you’ll be the engine room of financial insight across the Group. You will own the planning, budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring leaders have the clarity, confidence, and intelligence they need to steer the business. Whether it's building integrated financial models, stress‑testing scenarios, or supporting long‑term strategic planning, your work will directly shape Microlise’s future.
You will partner closely with senior leadership, acting as a trusted advisor who can translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. Your analysis will help us understand performance drivers, anticipate challenges, and unlock opportunities for sustainable growth.
If you are a qualified accountant with deep financial planning experience, exceptional modelling skills and the confidence to challenge, influence and lead - we’d love to hear from you.
What You Will Be Doing
Lead Financial Planning & Forecasting
* Own the end‑to‑end annual budgeting cycle and ongoing reforecasting processes.
* Develop robust, forward‑looking financial models covering revenue, cost, cash flow and profitability at Group and entity levels.
* Build scenario and sensitivity models to help the business understand the impact of under/over‑performance and external variables.
Drive Insight & Decision Support
* Prepare high‑quality reporting for the Board and senior leadership, including trading metrics, balance sheet performance, cash insights and financial ratios.
* Analyse actual performance vs. budget/forecast and deliver clear, insightful variance commentary.
* Identify trends, risks, and opportunities that influence financial outcomes and long‑term growth.
Influence Strategy & Business Performance
* Support long‑term planning, investment decisions, and financial modelling for M&A activity and commercial initiatives.
* Conduct competitor and market analysis to inform strategy and highlight implications for Microlise.
* Act as a commercial partner to operational leaders, helping them understand the financial impact of decisions.
Leadership & Collaboration
* Build strong cross‑functional relationships across sales, operations, HR, and other teams.
* Lead, develop and mentor the FP&A team to enhance capability and deliver high‑quality insight.
* Communicate complex financial information in a clear, concise and accessible way.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Accountant status - ACCA / ACA / CIMA (or equivalent).
* A solid grasp of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow dynamics, including IFRS standards.
* Demonstrable experience preparing and reviewing financial projections, multi‑year plans, scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis.
* Advanced financial modelling skills in Excel, with the ability to build and refine complex models.
* Experience using ERP systems (IFS experience desirable).
* A proactive, flexible mindset, able to work across multiple projects and priorities.
* Strong communication skills, gravitas and confidence when engaging stakeholders at all levels.
* A track record of leading and developing high‑performing teams.
