Overview
Working with our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for a Development Manager to join their team in support of continued growth and investment in new equipment.

- This position will suit an experienced engineering professional with prior experience in the installation and commissioning of new Capital equipment
- The successful Development Manager candidate will be an electrically biased Engineer with strong appreciation of plastics manufacturing machinery and ancillary equipment
- Fantastic opportunity for a skilled Engineer with supervisory experience to progress into a senior position focused on new equipment and plant improvement projects
- In the role of Development Manager you will be responsible for the safe installation of Capital equipment and site improvement projects
- As Development Manager you will lead on the identification, evaluation, development and implementation of new equipment and processing technologies
- Identify and specify new equipment, seeking out potential suppliers and gathering quotations
- Lead feasibility studies and technical evaluations for new equipment
- Working closely with suppliers on equipment design requirements / solutions
- Liaise with suppliers and OEM's to ensure technical and commercial alignment
- Present to senior management the costs and timescales to realise a specific project
- Manage projects from inception through to handover to production in terms of safety, cost, time and quality
- Coordinate trials and validation of new machinery and equipment
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to embed new processes and standards
- Provide technical guidance to engineering and operations teams on machinery and processing
- Time served electrically biased Engineer qualified to HNC / HND level
- Good working knowledge of Mechatronics, PLC Technology, Servo drives and Control systems
- Good communication skills with the ability to manage suppliers and contractors
- Experience on the safe installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Proven experience within plastics manufacturing
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with robotics and automation
- Understanding of health & safety requirements for industrial equipment
- Leadership and people management skills
