Are you an experienced Service Engineer with a strong electrical and mechanical background? We're working with a leading engineering solutions provider seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and working directly with customers.
About the Role
You'll be responsible for planned service work on process machinery and control systems, as well as emergency call-outs and troubleshooting. The role involves a mix of site-based work and occasional remote support, so flexibility is key. You'll also play a vital role in maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring high standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform planned maintenance and emergency service work on plant machinery and control systems.
- Liaise directly with customers to organise site visits and write Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS).
- Organise tools, equipment, and transportation for site work.
- Provide accurate reports and calibration certificates following site visits.
- Support commissioning teams with installation and commissioning duties.
- Assist sales and project teams with time and material estimates for proposals.
- Promote additional services and solutions during customer interactions.
What We're Looking For
- Qualifications: Apprenticeship or HNC in a relevant engineering or technical discipline.
- Experience: Previous experience as a service engineer with both electrical and mechanical skills.
- Technical Skills:
- Understanding of PLCs (Rockwell/Allen Bradley or Siemens) and motor drives.
- Ability to restore backups and troubleshoot faults.
- Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge.
- Other Requirements:
- Comfortable working at heights (20+ metres) and lifting weights up to 20kg.
- Forklift license and full UK driving license.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage own workload effectively.
Additional Information
- Travel to customer sites is required, including occasional overnight stays.
- International travel may be necessary.
