Are you an experienced Service Engineer with a strong electrical and mechanical background? We're working with a leading engineering solutions provider seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and working directly with customers.
About the Role
You'll be responsible for planned service work on process machinery and control systems, as well as emergency call-outs and troubleshooting. The role involves a mix of site-based work and occasional remote support, so flexibility is key. You'll also play a vital role in maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring high standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform planned maintenance and emergency service work on plant machinery and control systems.
Liaise directly with customers to organise site visits and write Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS).
Organise tools, equipment, and transportation for site work.
Provide accurate reports and calibration certificates following site visits.
Support commissioning teams with installation and commissioning duties.
Assist sales and project teams with time and material estimates for proposals.
Promote additional services and solutions during customer interactions.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
Apprenticeship or HNC in a relevant engineering or technical discipline.
Experience:
Previous experience as a service engineer with both electrical and mechanical skills.
Technical
Skills:
Understanding of PLCs (Rockwell/Allen Bradley or Siemens) and motor drives.
Ability to restore backups and troubleshoot faults.
Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge.
Other Requirements:
Comfortable working at heights (20+ metres) and lifting weights up to 20kg.
Forklift license and full UK driving license.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
Ability to work under pressure and manage own workload effectively.
Additional Information
Travel to customer sites is required, including occasional overnight stays.
International travel may be necessary.
