Mechanical Engineer
6 month contract inside IR35 at £45 per hour umbrella.
Nottingham based with hybrid working (3 days in the office). Can be based from Norwich office also.
Mid level engineer focused on hands on execution and project delivery rather than project management.
Key Result Areas Leadership- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Lead by example.
- Support project managers in development of project timelines, budgets and identification of scope creep.
- Support timely completion of projects within budget while meeting quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support for more junior engineers.
- Review engineering designs, specifications, and documentation for compliance with standards.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies.
- Perform various mechanical design calculations.
- Complete various project engineering documentation including BOMs, P&IDs, Test Procedures, Reports, functional Design Specifications and IOMs.
- Support CAD department in fabrication and structural design of various equipment.
- Resolve external and internal technical queries.
- Perform tests & present systems to customers in FATs.
- Diagnose system issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and expectations.
- Address client concerns and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and sales, to ensure seamless integration of the solutions.
- Interface with clients to understand their needs and provide technical solutions.
- Support sales department at the bidding stage.
- Collaborate closely with Contracts Manager and Engineering Manager to ensure successful delivery of wide portfolio of projects.
- Evaluate engineering design outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement lessons learned into future project planning and execution.
- Support standardisation and creation of unified processes across the team.
- Identify risks and opportunities.
- Ensure all engineering practices comply with relevant safety and industry standards.
- Promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Proven knowledge of the product design.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure.
